Happy Turkey Day

Well Thanksgiving is ending here in Uganda and its just now beginning for everyone back home.

A missionary in town invited other missionaries and Americans over for a potluck style Thanksgiving feast.  The other volunteer girls and I brought fruit salad complete with banana, apple, watermelon, mango, pineapple, and passion fruit.

It was like a traditional Thanksgiving only with chicken instead of turkey.  Oh my goodness was it delicious and I am stuffed right now.  I should have gotten a picture of my plate, but I forgot.  So I’ll give you the rundown…

Chicken
Dressing
Mashed potatoes
Scalloped potatoes
Homemade roll
Green bean
Corn
Sweet potatoes
Baked beans
Green beans with bacon and tomatoes

And then for dessert…

Pumpkin pie
Pecan pie
6 Russian Tea Biscuits

It was amazing!  What a gift to be able to experience holidays in another culture.  The only thing missing was some football!

Hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving back home and end up as stuffed as I am!

Love you all!
