This past weekend was Chi Alpha at The Heights. Which is really just their trendy name for Disciple Now.
This was my fourth year to help, but have started a trend where one year I lead a group and then the next year I help behind the scenes. So this year was the year that I helped behind the scenes.
The best part about the weekend for me was that 8 of the seniors from last year came back to be leaders this year…and even one of my kids from back home in Pasadena came to lead. I’ve always called that group of students, “my students” so in essence I was one proud mama this weekend.
There were worship services with tiny 7th grade boys next to giant college boys.
There were proud moments watching this sweet girl who I’ve loved since she was a 3rd grader lead 7th grade girls.
There were high school boys competing to see who could stack the most milk crates on top of each other and still balance on top.
Only then to be beat out by this 7th grade cutie who stacked the most!
There were girls conquering their fears of heights.
And there were best friends all around.
After all this fun, I was exhausted…and I didn’t even lead a group of kids!
