Chi Town - Day Four and Good-Bye

So Debo and I got up early to get ready and get packed up!  We were planning on going on an architecture boat tour at 10:00, but there was a little mix up and we couldn’t get tickets for that one and had to wait until 11:00.

So we went back to the hotel to check out and then came back.  Well so keeping with the pattern of hot/cold/hot weather that Chicago loves, today was overcast and quite chilly.  We weren’t so prepared for that, but endured anyways.

The boat tour was so fun!  I literally love learning about the history of cities!  We finally got to see the Sears Tower too!  The sun peeked out from time to time which was a nice relief, but it was still a cold little tour.

Afterwards we grabbed lunch and then I wanted to take mom to Millennium Park.  However, if you know me then you know that I’m a very cold-natured person.  It was windy out today and the temperatures were in the high 60’s I believe.  Well this Haston was in a bit of a shock with that…especially coming from the 90’s in Texas.  All I had was a little cardigan and it wasn’t working!  So being the baby that I am, I said I couldn’t take it so we went back to the hotel!

We grabbed a cab and just headed out to the airport early!

On the plane ride home we lucked out and got the last 2 seats that were side by side on the plane.  I was in the middle and sitting next to a mom with a 9 month little baby girl with her, Maggie.  I got to play with Maggie in between my reading, and even got to hold her some!  The best part was the mom, who couldn’t have been 5 or more years older than me, thought that I was 17!  I enjoyed being able to tell her that I was 28…and Cobb I didn’t even have to think about how old I am this time!!

Granny and Grandad picked us up at the airport, we picked up our cars, and then headed home to Debo’s house!

I loved our trip!  It was fun to go on a trip with Debo, which we’re pretty sure was the first one that just the two of us went on together.  I checked several things off of my “Chicago To Do” list, but there are several things that I didn’t get to.  So I’m thinking a return trip is in order some time soon!

Chicago...love you!
